Commercial Break : Food for the Gods

Today, Sam will demonstrate how to make mommy's favourite Christmas dessert, Food for the Gods.

Combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, prune juice, vanilla and eggs.

Mix in the sifted flour, baking powder, salt. Fold in the dates. You can put walnuts, but since this is a kid-friendly dessert, this version does not have it.

Line the baking tray with wax paper and pour in the mixture.

Bake at 160C for 45 minutes.

Sam's blue plate is first in line.

WOW. The top part tastes like toffee. WOW.

Mmmmm....

What you will need:

1 c melted butter
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c corn syrup, preferably *Karo dark corn syrup
1/4 c prune juice
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 c sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c and 1/4 c dates, chopped

Adelaide Day 4

Someone does not want to keep still.

One last pic with Franco before saying goodbye.

AT THE AIRPORT.

One minute, Sam was sitting all by himself.

...in less than 1 minute...

...mommy zooming in...

...mommy doing a double-take..

...hmmm...

Exhausted, but happy. Fell asleep even before the seatbelt sign went off. Dreaming of "jollibees", birds, deer, monkeys, seals, and parrots on the way home.

Thank you, Mini Mart, Ninang Shar and Coco!

Adelaide Day 3

Starting the day right with a babyccino.

Next Stop: The Zoo!

The best way to travel.

It's an alligator! Not a wishing well!

Taking a break from nap.

It's not moving...

HooOooray! It's ALIVE!

Do-a-deer...

Back home for some big fat juicy steaks! Thank you Nadals!

Adelaide Day 2

An Adelaide holiday is not an Adelaide holiday without a trip to Hahndorf.

Strawberry (pronounced as "Jollibee") picking at Beerenberg.

Ninaaaaaang! Mini Maaaaaart! Cocoooooo!

Ending the day with dinner at Zucca and a stroll at Holdfast Shores.
