Mom : Saaaaaam! Bath time!
Mom can see Sam on the bed, hiding under the covers.
Mom : Saaaaaaam! Where's Sam? (pretending not to see Sam)
Sam, still hiding, giggling loudly.
Mom : Dad, have you seen Sam?
Dad : No, where's Sam?
Sam, giggling hysterically. Sam suddenly jumps out of the covers.
Sam : Here he is!!! I found it!!!
Well done, Sam! You found Sam!

Commercial Break - Bavarian Bier Cafe
Bavarian Bier Cafe
http://www.bavarianbiercafe.com/
We went to the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park for the weekend market. The gloomy weather reflected the atmosphere of the market...grey and depressing. It was drizzling and we were hungry. We quickly zoned in on the Bavarian Bier Cafe, right opposite the market. If it were an otherwise sunny weather, we would have probably not even considered going to Bavarian Bier Cafe. But we are glad we did.
We were annoyed that they ran out of the mussels. WHAT?! Hunger and the sight of tender juicy steak in the next table saved the resto from the wrath of this crazy, hungry woman. Steak and pork belly, it is! Plus a sausage from the kiddie menu for our little artist.

Commercial Break - How to Prepare a Pomegranate
Great advice from a friend from Iran: Remove the pomegranate seeds in a bowl of water. No more splatters!
Such a beautiful fruit. So photogenic.
Put the pomegranate in a bowl of water.
Remove the seeds under water to avoid splatters. Brilliant idea!
It took 2 minutes to remove all the seeds.
Sprinkle some salt. I can eat this all day.

The Hungry Caterpillar
Sam's painting was one of the five artworks chosen to be framed and put up on the wall. His teacher was very proud that his painting of a caterpillar looks very spot-on. Well done, Sam!

Port Stephens: Day 3
The Australian Shark and Ray Centre
http://www.ozsharkandray.com.au/
We paid $86 for 2 adults and stayed for about an hour. Too expensive, but still quite an experience. The website gives an accurate description of what you can do, like cuddling a 300kg sting ray. Overall, we prefer this place over Sydney Aquarium just because you can get up close and personal with sharks and sting rays. Best of all, you don't have to get wet. You just have to put on waders (like what they wear for fly fishing), on top of your outfit and you can get into the tanks with the sharks and sting rays. No need to get into wetsuits.
Oakvale Farm
http://www.oakvalefarm.com.au/
If you have kids, you must stop by Oakvale Farm on your way back to Sydney from Port Stephens. We actually enjoyed Oakvale Farm more than Taronga Zoo. At just $20 per adult (children under 3 are free), it made us forget how much we spent on the Australia Shark and Ray Centre.
